Every Nigerian of voting age, at least 18 years old, is mandated to possess a voter’s card to be able to vote during any election.

What you would need to check your voter’s card status
There are two major ways to check your voter’s card status;
- Using your Voters Identification Number (VIN).
- Using your registration details.
To use your Voters Identification Number (VIN), check your temporary voter’s card.
You will need the following to check your voter’s card status using registration details;
- State of registration.
- Local government of registration.
- Last Name.
- First Name.
- Date of birth.
How to check voter’s card status online
Using INEC’s official portal
- Visit https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/vvs
- Fill in the required details.
- Then select Check Status.
Using 1-Gov.ng
- Visit https://services.gov.ng/check-voter-registration-status/
- Fill in the required details as displayed.
Via SMS
- Text your State, Last Name, and Voter Identification No (VIN) to 081-7164-6879 e.g Kogi, Solomon, 10877.
- You should receive a response within 15 mins.
