A sergeant in the Nigeria Police, Kwara State Command, Olalere Michael has allegedly shot a lady death before taking his own life immediately.
Confirming the unfortunate incidence, the Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ajayi Okasanmi said that information reached the headquarters about 8:05am on Thursday that the Police Personnel with Tag F/ NO 497093 went to Chapel of Redemption, Agba Dam Housing Estate Ilorin to commit the unexpected act.
Okasanmi said the late Micheal Olalere opened fire on the yet to be identified lady before shooting himself on the head and died on the spot.
However, Kwara State Police Command has condemned the action of a police sergeant, Olalere Michael who killed a woman and himself at Agba Dam Area of Ilorin.
Commissioner of Police in Kwara, Mr Paul Odama has directed that the bodies be deposited at University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Morgue while investigation into the incidence commences.
Mr Okasanmi however maintained that the issue has nothing to do with police brutality but love gone sour.
