The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Colonel Kefas Agbu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner of the governorship election held on Saturday March 18th, 2023 in Taraba State.
Prof Muhammad Ahmed Abdul’aziz, who is the returning officer and Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, announced the result at the INEC collation center in Jalingo.
He said Kefas Agbu of the PDP scored the total of 257,926 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Professor Sani Yahaya of the NNPP who pulled 202,277 votes, while Senator Emmanuel Bwacha of the APC scored 142,502 and Danladi Baido of SDP got 28,374.
Meanwhile, the State Governor, Darius Ishaku has called on the people of the state to accord them maximum support.
