Sokoto State Governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu says his administration will focus on his nine-point programme to justify the trust reposed in him by the people.
Alhaji Aliyu, who was elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the pledge while appreciating the electorate in the state for their overwhelming support during the recent election.
He listed his agenda in government to include improving the state’s health sector, education, local government autonomy, religion, socioeconomic development, security, Infrastructure, civil service reforms and human capital development.
The Governor-Elect described his victory as a challenge to reform the state as well as restore its lost glory.
His administration would accord priority to the “wishes and interests” of the citizens, with a view to carrying out his campaign promises, he said.
As he also put it, the Aliyu-led administration will be welcoming to “constructive criticisms” from the people of the state. He urged his political rivals to consider his victory as destiny and join hands with him in the development of the state.
The Governor-Elect expressed gratitude to Senàtor Aliyu Magatakardan Wamakko, the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, Sokoto State APC Chairman, Alhaji Sadiq Achida, other party stalwarts, stakeholders, and party loyalists for their support, which he said facilitated his victory on March 18.
