Former Chief of Staff to Imo State Government, Uche Nwosu, says Nigeria needs more Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the oil sector especially in the establishment of refineries.
Mr Nwosu in an interview with Newsmen on Tuesday, said it would quell the issue of removal of fuel subsidy as there would be more fuel to export and consume.
He hailed President Bola Tinubu for his decision on the fuel subsidy, saying that it was the right call.
“These are things we do not need in this country again. Now, we buy fuel for almost N250 per litre and some area buy as high as N300 per litre. And they say when they remove fuel subsidy it is almost the same thing. What is fuel subsidy? Fuel subsidy is that all the money that goes to private individuals is not going to them” Nwosu said.
Mr Nwosu who is also the President of the Ugwumba Leadership Centre for Africa expressed optimism in Tinubu’s administration, stating that he is capable of leading Nigeria.
On the appointment of the President’s cabinet, Mr Nwosu said the 60 days was fair as most agencies have Permanent Secretaries and they should take charge till Tinubu makes his appointment.
