American actor, Treat Williams, who was known for his roles in the movies “Hair” and “Everwood”, has died in a motorcycle accident.
The accident took place in Dorset, a town in Vermont, after an SUV crashed into Williams’ motorcycle upon making a turn into a parking lot.
Aged 71, Williams suffered critical injuries despite wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead at a medical centre in Albany, New York, after being airlifted there.
The BBC quoted his long-time manager, Berry McPherson, as saying that Williams was an “actor’s actor who had been the heart of Hollywood since the late 1970s”.
Williams received three Golden Globes nominations in the 1980s and was nominated for an Emmy award for his work in the 1996 TV movie, “The Late Shift”.
