
The Chairman of Eagles Crime Awareness and Prevention Initiative (ECAPI) 2023 National Security Summit and Chairman Light Givers Humanitarian Foundation, High Chief Stanley Chukwudi Obodoagwu, has urged Security Agencies in Nigeria to adopt community policing and prioritize intelligence gathering in response to the country’s numerous security challenges.

During his keynote speech at the Eagle Crime Awareness and Prevention Conference held in Ikeja, Lagos, High Chief Obodoagwu emphasized the significance of community policing and crime prevention for safeguarding lives and properties in Nigeria. The conference, themed “Intelligence Gathering and Community Policing as a Panacea For Solving Insecurity Challenges In Nigeria,” underscored the importance of these approaches.

High Chief Obodoagwu emphasized that community policing is indispensable for Nigeria, as it revolves around fostering relationships with community members and sharing policing powers and responsibilities between the police and local neighborhoods.
He further asserted that intelligence gathering and community policing are crucial in tackling the prevailing high crime rates and diverse security challenges in Nigeria. He emphasized the extensive negative impact of insecurity on economic activities and overall societal development, urging security agents to employ every available means to contain the growing insecurity.
The event, attended by members of ECAPI and other distinguished dignitaries, provided a platform for meaningful discussions on intelligence gathering and community policing.
