
A ground worker at San Antonio International Airport has been confirmed dead after being sucked into a Delta Air Lines plane engine in Texas.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board, the plane had one engine moving when the worker was ingested on Friday night at about 10:25pm after it had landed in the Texas city from Los Angeles.
The BBC quoted the safety board as saying that it is still gathering details regarding the incident.
The victim who is yet to be officially identified was working for Unifi Aviation, a ground handling contractor used by Delta and other airlines.
The Airline Spokesperson, Erin Rodriguez said the agency was saddened by the incident and was working with authorities to investigate the matter.
A similar incident was reported in Alabama about six months ago.
