
The Office of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has condemned what it described as episodes of misinformation and negative narratives being “sponsored” in the media against the Interim Administrator of PAP, Major General Barry Ndiomu (rtd).
A statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, by the Special Assistant on Media to the PAP Interim Administrator, Freston Akpor explains that despite the obvious misinformation, his Principal has successfully sanitized the Programme, urging members of the public to ignore the claims of “mischief makers”
Akpor said since Ndiomu assumed office on September 19, 2023, he has strategically cleared all inherited debts through tactical financial models, some of the debts which included those that were owed to critical contractors and agencies, as well as scholarship debts.
He cautioned those individuals spreading misinformation across the media space with “an obvious intent to whip up negative public opinion against the leadership of the Programme” to refrain from such act.

Achievements
the Special Assistant on Media to the PAP disclosed that: “General Ndiomu Instead of cancelling the inconclusive scholarship awarded by his predecessor, adopted the process with payment of all fees”.
According to him the PAP students being 1,700 spread across tertiary institutions in the country with additional 55 delegates going into their first year in various universities had their fees fully paid.
“In addition to the 1,300 students already deployed to various tertiary institutions within Nigeria and overseas in the previous year which brings the total no to 3000, whose scholarships covers tuition, In-Training-Allowance (ITA) for the 2022/2023 academic session, were also paid by the administration ”.
He reiterated PAP’s efforts to launch the Formal Education Trust Fund which will boost the formal education scheme.
