African countries particularly those who are going through some sort of internal insurrections have been urged to take a cue from Nigeria who despite her years of numerous challenges still remained as one indivisible country.
A book reviewer and political analyst, Jude Idada who stated this while discussing a book ”Nigerians, a self-organising People” described Nigerians as selfless and lovable people who chose to ignore their differences for the over all benefit of the country.
Mr Idada said though the country’s situation at times becomes very unbearable for people particularly the vulnerable but many have chosen to be law-abiding, peaceful and tolerant.
He noted that though their have been the rise of banditry, insurgency and criminalities but these were not peculiar to Nigeria alone as even developed countries have had to deal with even greater problems.
The book reviewer pointed out that some individuals such as ”Hilda Baci”, Wole Soyinka, Burna Boy amongst many other persons, have through their achievements united the country.
According to Idada, the self-organising spirit of Nigerians have been the driving force behind her unity despite the fact that many persons have predicted several times that the country will disintegrate.
He admonished Africa to embrace the ever impressive qualities of tolerance, love and patience that Nigerians have exhibited over the years to unite the region even more.
On his part, the Program Coordinator of an NGO, Unveiling and Rebranding Nigeria Initiative, Abdulkadir Lawal said the organisation is more than committed to showcasing the talents and potential of Nigerians to the world thereby strengthening the country’s giant status in the comity of nations.
Mr Lawal added it will continue to deploy technology and community engagement mechanism to propagate the positive image of Nigeria and inspire patriotism in her people.
