
The suspended Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has arrived at the Federal High Court in Lagos to answer two count charge of being in possession of gun and live ammunition without license
The suspended governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has pleaded not guilty to the two count charges levelled against him by the State Security Service.
Emefiele clad in cream jalabia entered the dock in his hand with a big red KJV bible arrived at a Federal High Court in Lagos to answer two count charge of being in possession of gun and live ammunition without license
Emefiele was charged to court for being in possession of one Single Barrel shot Gun and One Hundred and Twenty-Three Rounds of live ammunition without license.
Following the not guilty plea, his lawyer, J.B Dawodu, SAN informed the court that Emefiele has been in incarceration for the past four weeks urging court to grant him bail.
In a counter reaction, the prosecutor informed the court that they have not been served and have not seen the bail application.
He noted that it’s the Solicitor General that is standing for the AGF while urging the court to allow the prosecutor to respond from the point of law.
