
In an interview with the Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS) at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, Assistant Director, Accounting and Finance, Mr. Thomas Ogedengbe, has shared crucial information with Corps Members.
When asked about when corps members should expect their allowances, he responded that corps members will receive their first monthly allowance before the end of the Orientation Course. He also declared that Access Bank, the designated bank for disbursement of funds will be present on camp to issue ATM cards to corps members over the weekend.

Delving into allowance details, he clarified that Lagos Corps Members are entitled to four distinct allowances, encompassing the monthly stipend, transport allowance to and from camp, and even a bicycle allowance. He also mentioned the dislodgement allowance specifically designated for Lagos corps members posted to other states’ camps.
Addressing speculation of a potential increase in the monthly allowance, he refuted such claims, affirming that the allowance remains at 33,000 naira. He stressed that any alterations would be officially communicated by NYSC management.
He urged corps members to exercise caution while opening bank accounts in a bid avoid the input of wrong details as it may hinder or thwart efforts to access their rightfully owned money.
