
The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee mandated to investigate TETFund activities which involved alleged N2.3 trillion meant to execute projects over the years in tertiary institutions across the country paid a monitoring visit to Kebbi State.
The Chairman of the Committee, Idem Unyime, the member representing Ukanafun/Orukanam Federal Constituency led the team on a courtesy call on the Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar.
He told the Deputy Governor they were in Kebbi State to monitor the activities carried out under TETFund projects in in both federal and state tertiary institutions in the state.
He explained that the visit was also to solicit the support and cooperation of the government for Committee to carry out its mandate effectively.
Responding, Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Umar Abubakar assured the Committee of all necessary support and cooperation to enable them to discharge their duty diligently.
He also said the activities of this ad-hoc Committee would no doubt assist the state as many projects in tertiary institutions were abandoned, adding that there is the need to mobilize the contractors back to the sites or cancel the contract and reaward it to capable hands for completion.
