
The governor of Zamfara state, Dauda Lawal, has commenced an unplanned on-site inspection of a road construction projects in Gusau, the state’s capital.
Acording to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Suleiman Bala Idris, “Governor Lawal expressed satisfaction with the progress of the projects”.
The projects are crucial part of the phase one of the Urban Renewal initiative, which started last month and involves construction of four roadways, spanning 3.5 kilometers.
He added that the Governor was greeted with enthusiastic cheers from a jubilant crowd at the inspection, considering the commencement of the urban renewal project, which started on the 18th of August 2023, and has made remarkable progress.
Governor Lawal reiterated his administration’s unrelenting commitment to the Urban Renewal project while touring the construction site, highlighting the fact that the Zamfara State government is continuously engaged in a rescue mission..
He said that in 20 days, the project had reached important milestones including the completion of drainages, necessary earthwork like the laying of laterite, leveling of the box culvert, and the installation of the stone base course.
He requested the residents of Gusau town to be patience and understanding during the construction phase, while admitting that sincere progress occasionally calls for brief inconveniences.
