In a thrilling final at the US Open tennis tournament at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, Novak Djokovic clinched his 24th Grand Slam title, becoming the most crowned singles champion ever.
The Serbian tennis star, 36, defeated Daniil Medvedev on Sunday.
Djokovic won the match 6-3, 7-6, 6-3, equaling Margaret Court’s incredible record.
He has now won each of the four Grand Slams- US Open, French Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon – at least three times, with 10 Australian, three French, seven Wimbledon and four US titles.
Despite losing to Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final in July, Djokovic has surpassed (another Spaniard) Rafael Nadal’s record tally of 22 men’s major titles earlier this year.
