
Nigerian Airforce, NAF has conducted an early morning strike on Monday at Suwa, Kala Balge Local Government Area, a stronghold of Boko Haram terrorists near Sambisa forest.
The operation was conducted by Air component of Operation Hadin Kai.
Director of Public Relations and Information of the Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet in a statement says recent intelligence revealed the mop up of terrorists within the area.
Further intelligence also revealed that the group of terrorists had perfected plans to attack troops stationed around Rann in Kalabalge local government area and also likely plans to attack troops on patrol along major routes to Bama and Mafa local government areas.
The statement adds that air strikes were authorized with confirmatory assessments of terrorists neutralized and structures destroyed, thereby degrading their ability to attack friendly forces and innocent law abiding citizens.
The statement solicits the support of all Nigerians to the Armed Forces and other security agencies to sustain protection of lives and property.
It also urges air component commanders in all joint operating theatres to key into the directive of Chief of the Air Staff, to stop at nothing in going after criminals and ensure that they are brought to justice.
