The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has inducted 205 foreign trained graduates into the Council with a charge on them to conduct themselves professionally.
The Registrar of MDCN, Dr Tajudeen Sanusi administered the pledge and oath on them on Wednesday at the ceremony in Abuja.
Out of the 205 inductees, 189 are medical graduates while 16 are dentists.
The Registrar warned that the Council would sanction health workers found wanting, reminding the inductees that the profession was a call to service and humanity.
On the movement of health personnel to other countries, the Minister of State for health and Social Welfare, Dr Tunji Alausa emphasised that it had brought significant disruptions to the health sector.
Dr Alausa assured that efforts were on to improve the healthcare environment and provide better funding for the sector.
Also, the Guest Lecturer, Prof Isaac Adewole of the University of Benin pointed out that the health sector was plagued with numerous challenges but urged the inductees to view it as opportunity to excel.
Dr Adewole also advised the inductees to prioritize their health even as they care for others.
