The Delta State Ministry of Economic Planning has organized a two-day validation meeting for Directors of Planning and Research (DPRS) and Focal Persons in the different Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the state government for the Medium -Term Development Plan III, 2024 – 2027.
The Director of Planning/Economic Sector, Mrs.Azuka Monye, stated that the validation meeting was borne out of the submission by the MDAs at the workshop earlier held in June 2024, which was a follow up on the 2016-2019 and 2020-2023 development plan in the state.
She stated that the essence is to give clarity to grey areas, additional information will be added where necessary and corrections will be made as well.
The consultant in charge of the project, Professor Eric Eboh, told the focal persons that the Mid- Term Development Plan was for four years, that it would not be proper for someone else to oversee the process, hence they were invited to the validation workshop for them to be involved in the process.
Professor Eboh expressed delight at their response, stating that their collaboration and input had been impressive.
“We will interact with you based on what you submitted, so that we can effectively interact with you to guide us accordingly because nobody can explain better to us than you.”
He continued: “We want to have a medium-term development plan that every one of you across the MDAs can be proud to display on their table, for budgeting purposes, resource allocation and to market Delta State as a whole.”
Professor Eboh, stated that a total of 94 MDAs wouldbe engaged in the process, as he expressed satisfaction for the MDAs that had made their submission so far at the validation meeting.
