
Delta State Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Engr. Ifeanyi Anoka has revealed that the master plan of two major cities in the state, Asaba the state capital and Warri, the commercial hub of the state will be undertaken next year in line with the commitment of the Oborevwori Administration to the creation of smart cities in the state.
Anoka, speaking shortly after his ministry’s budget defense at this year’s inter- ministerial budget defense organized by the Ministry of Economic Planning, said the master plan of both cities had been included in the ministry’s 2025 budget proposal.
Flanked by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. Charity Ehimen, Deputy Director of Town Planning, TPL Charles Egba and other ministry officials, Anoka said all hands were on deck to ensure continued development control in the state, adding that the master plan when ready, will create global cities and attract investors and visitors to the state.
He also disclosed that the current budget has recorded 65 per cent performance which could be seen in the numerous achievements by the ministry, including development control in the entire state and raking revenue for the state government.
