
It was an evening of celebration on Tuesday at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Rotary Club of Asaba District 9141, as Rtn. Martyns Obiefune emerged as President-elect for 2025/2026 Rotary year.
In his welcome address, the outgoing President, Rtn. Edwin Onoyona thanked members for their role and contributions towards the growth of the club through the various projects executed in the year 2024.
“I want to appreciate every one of you for your immense support and encouragement in this year 2024. I wouldn’t have been able to pilot the affairs of the club without your guidance, assistance and financial contributions.”
Welcoming the President-elect after the election, members unanimously applauded his nomination and election into the office, calling it a well–deserved one.
Rtn. Obiefune, in his acceptance speech, thanked the outgoing President and executive for the selfless work done in 2024/2025 Rotary year.
“it’s a great honour to be called upon to pilot the affairs of Rotary Club of Asaba GRA, our club. I will not speak too much. I know what is expected of me and I’m not going to disappoint you. I’ll work with executive members and every one of you to ensure that the club is brought to its glorious height once again.”

They are expected to pilot the affairs of the club for the 2025/2026 Rotary year.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of a recognition award to the President-elect for his outstanding humanitarian acts in the 2024/2025 Rotary year, by the Immediate Past President (IPP) Rtn. Thomas Oyename.
