Civil servants in Delta State have been advised to be committed, proactive and work harmoniously,irrespective of their tribe and religious beliefs to deliver the M.O.R.E Agenda of the present administration.
The Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Dr Anthony Nwokolobia, gave the advice recently during a meeting with the management and staff of the office, held at Government House Asaba.
Nwokolobia stated that the Office of the Deputy Governor was among the few offices that received Special Duty Allowances (SDA), stressing that benefiting officers should be committed in discharging their official duties and put in their best towards delivering government programs and policies.
He commended some of the staff for being proactive in discharging their duties, adding that there was room for improvement among officers.
The permanent secretary promised to liaise with the Office of the Head of Service to organize an in -house training for staff.
According to him, the training would improve their knowledge and be abreast with the new technology of service delivery.
The permanent secretary used the occasion to thank the State Government for providing an 18-seater bus forthe office, saying that it would help to provide transportation services to staff when the need arises.
Also speaking, the Director of Administration, Mr.God’spower Olisa observed that some officers shy away from duty and called on them to change their orientation. towards the manner they do their jobs.
The Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Pascal Abanum, who also spoke, urged staff members to be more alive to their responsibilities and not be cogs in the wheel of progress.
The highlight of the meeting was an interactive session with staff.
