The Executive Director (Operations), Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DIRS), Dr. Frank Nwugohas urged revenue generating MDAs to consolidate on the success of 2024 in which the state’s IGR hit N157billion, surpassing its given target of N110billion.
Dr. Nwugo who represented the Chairman of the Service, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, gave the charge during a meeting organized by the ministry of finance for all relevant Revenue Generating MDAs in the state at the ministry’s conference room in Asaba.
Nwugo said that going by the report, an averagerevenue of 13.1% was remitted monthly to the state as against the 7.5% average recorded in 2023.
While presenting the breaking of the top performing MDAs he revealed that BIR generated N133 Billion96%, followed by the Ministry of Lands and Surveys/Urban Development which generatedN4Billion (3.38%), while the Ministry of Urban renewal came third with N317Million (0.27%).
He tasked MDAs that fell short to improve their performance in 2025 as it was the goal of the Revenue Service that non–oil revenue like the IGR should be enough to fund recurrent expenditures like payment of salaries and wages.
