
The Delta State Government has been commended for embarking on projects that will benefit Deltans, such as the ongoing construction of the College of Health Technology in Ovrode.
The Chairman, Committee on Health, Delta State House of Assembly. Hon. Ferguson Onwo gave the commendation today during the Committee’s oversight visit of the new College of Health Technology, being constructed in Ovrode, Isoko North Local Government Area.
Ferguson said his committee decided to undertake the oversight visit to assess the progress of the ongoing construction of the new College of Health Technology, Ovrode.
“This visit underscores the state government‘s commitment to enhancing health care education and ensuring that infrastructure projects align with quality standards and timelines,” the Chairman stated.
Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, State Commissioner for Health, stated that the health institution will play a vital role in training semi-skilled health professionals, hence the visit to ensure the construction meets the highest standard.
“Graduates of the College of Health Technology, Ovrode will fill the workforce of the human resource for health in the 441 primary healthcare facilities across the State,” the Commissioner stated.
He commended the cordial relationship and existing synergy geared towards development between the Executive and the Legislature in the State which he said is a plus to the State.
He said that when completed, the College will enhance healthcare education, create job opportunities and also contribute to improved health services in the State.
Present at the visit were the Majority Whip, Hon. Bernard Odior; Member Representing Isoko North State Constituency, State House of Assembly, Chief Whip in the House of Assembly, Member Representing Ughelli South State Constituency in the House of Assembly, and the Vice President, Isoko Development Union, Chief Daniel Odhomo.
