
The Executive Committee members of the Delta State Council for Islamic affairs (DSCIA) have called on the state government and individuals not to deal with any other body outside the constitutionally elected leaders of the group, on any matter concerning Moslems, both indigenous and settler Moslem, in the state.
The state chairman of Delta State Council for Islamic affairs, DSCIA, Alhaji Ibrahim Nwadu made the call during a meeting of the executive members in Asaba, Delta State capital.
Alhaji Nwadu who is also the vice president general, Supreme council for Islamic affairs Delta State chapter said the supreme council for Islamic affairs is the umbrella body of all Moslems, including the Hausa, Yoruba, Nupe, indigenous and Moslems from all parts of the state.
While advising the state government and the general public to adhere to the viable and sensitive information from the authority of Delta State council for Islamic affairs, he warned that people should not impersonate the body.
He said the body is out to represent all the Moslems in the state, fight for their welfare and ensure they live in peace with their host communities.
Alhaji Nwadu, the representative of the president general, Supreme council for Islamic affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar the 111, Sultan of Sokoto, said the state government and individuals alike should be aware and avoid dealing with fraudulent groups or individuals.
