
Leaders and stakeholders of the Udu, Ughelli North, and Ughelli South Federal Constituency—popularly known as the U3 Forum—came together in a powerful show of unity on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the Brooklyn Hall in Udu Council Secretariat. The event, hosted under the banner of the Udu Youth Chairmen Town-Hall Meeting, was more than just a political gathering—it was a declaration of intent and direction.
At the heart of the meeting was a clear message: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has the full backing of the U3 Forum as he gears up for a second term in office. “There is no vacancy in Dennis Osadebay House,” declared Chief John Oguma, leader of the Forum, capturing the sentiment of the day with a statement that resonated across the hall.
Governor Oborevwori’s ongoing implementation of the MORE AGENDA was widely praised as a key reason for this support. From infrastructure development to peace-building and community-focused governance, speakers described his leadership as “a blessing to Delta State, Oguma added.
The Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Hon. Vincent Oyibode also highlighted how local development projects are already reflecting the Governor’s commitment to grassroots transformation stating that it wasn’t just about politics.
Youth empowerment also took center stage during the meeting as Chief Oguma and other speakers called on the young people of the constituency to take ownership of their future—by rejecting social vices, getting involved in governance, and playing active roles in community development.
Chief Ejiro Hope, the convener of the event, went further by announcing a plan to work closely with youth chairmen across Udu communities to tackle pressing issues such as drug abuse, unemployment, and disengagement.
There was also a strong push for inclusivity, with speakers urging the active participation of women in political mobilization and leadership within the Forum.
