As part of efforts to curb the crime rate in Oghara, headquarters of Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, the Council Chairman, Hon Christian Onogba has extended an earlier curfew imposed on the town on April 30, 2025 in the aftermath of cult clashes
The earlier curfew, which was from 12am to 6am to curb the menace of cult clashes and constant burglary of homes in the locality, has been extended to 10pm to 6am after a briefing by security agencies and relevant stakeholders in the local government area.
In a statement in which the traditional ruler of Oghara Kingdom, HRM Noble Eshemitan, Orefe III, the Divisional Police Officer for Oghara and the Flag Officer Commanding, Logistics Commands Headquarters, Nigerian Navy, Oghara, were all copied, Onogba advised the public to comply with the security directives as failure to do so would incur severe sanctions.
