The Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ighoyota Amori, has reaffirmed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to delivering on the promises made to Deltans during and after the 2023 gubernatorial elections.
Senator Amori gave the assurance on Wednesday in Asaba while receiving members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Udu Branch, who paid him a courtesy visit at his office.
Speaking during the visit, the delegation led by Barr. Gody Moke congratulated Senator Amori on his appointment as Chief Adviser to the Governor, describing it as a well-deserved recognition.
“We are happy that you are here today as the Chief Adviser to the Governor,” Moke said. “I came here today because I know that you are an accommodating leader who will always listen to us and tell us plainly when we are going out of line.”
Barrister Moke further appealed to the Chief Adviser to facilitate the governor’s attention to several bad spots on the Ovwian market junction to Otu-Jeremi junction in Udu Local Government Area. He specifically mentioned the front of Ovwian Grammar School, front of John Jeff, and Daddy Bakery as areas in dire need of repair.
According to him, “A repair of these dangerous spots will ease traffic congestion, prevent vehicular damage, and restore the people’s confidence in the government’s responsiveness to their needs.”
In his response, Senator Amori appreciated the NBA Udu Branch for their thoughtful visit and kind words. He commended their active concern for their community, stating that such engagements are in line with Governor Oborevwori’s people-focused leadership style.
“I want to thank you for this well-thought-out gesture and your congratulatory message,” Amori said. “The governor has always welcomed such requests because they reflect the rights and expectations of the people.”
He added, “If the governor could urge citizens to report poorly executed projects in their areas, how much more the repair of critical road spots that directly affect their daily lives? Rest assured, the governor will look into this matter.”
Senator Amori emphasized the importance of community feedback in governance, noting that the governor cannot be physically present in every part of the state at all times.
“Reports like this help him stay informed of the situation on ground and understand what the people really want,” he noted.
He urged the association to continue supporting the governor’s efforts to take Delta State to greater heights.
“Keep supporting Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori in his M.O.R.E. Agenda to make Delta State a place every Deltan can be proud of,” Amori concluded.
