
The Warri North Local Government Council chairman, Hon. Festus Ashima has commended the Insecticide Treated Net Universal Coverage Campaign Team for a successful universal coverage campaign exercise in Warri North.
Ashima, who was represented by Mr. Monday Ogboko, gave this commendation when the team comprising of the Federal and, State Ministries of Health, the roll back malaria partners, and the Roman Catholic church and led by Mr. Bright Akpoteheri , visited the council to present 2025 ITN exercise report.
“Warri North is very grateful to the team and the entire partners who contributed to making the exercise a huge success and by which; pregnant women and infant mortality has been greatly reduced in the area” he said.
He noted that the impact of their fight against malaria cannot be overemphasized, adding that the people of Warri North remain committed to supporting the cause.
Nurse Patience Nunu who stood in for Dr. Winifred Temisanre, the Secretary, Warri North Local Government Health Authority, while presenting the report for the 2025 exercise to the council chairman, said that the ITN Campaign Coverage experienced a hundred percent coverage success in the LGA.
The Warri North ITN Universal Coverage Campaign ocal coordinator on her part expressed gratitude to the Warri North Council boss for providing the logistical and other support to the team while the programme lasted.
She also thanked the wife of the council chairman, Mrs. Omasan Ashima for her support in mobilizing the people for the programme.
While receiving the report from Nurse Nunu, Hon. Ashima wished the team well in their journey back to their respective destinations and urged them to remain committed to serving the people in any such humanitarian assignment.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of the 2025 ITN Universal Coverage Campaign programme report for Warri North to the council.
