Incidences of theft of water pumping machines is on the increase in Warri as no fewer than seven pumping machines were stolen by men of the underworld in the Rubber Plantation near Warri Garage Area in Warri.
Most compounds in the said areas were without pumping machines at as the time of filing this report.
It was gathered that the nefarious activities of the men of the underworld were carried out cleverly without violence at wee hours.
A victim of the ugly development, Chief Akpojotor Adjarho who stays behind Besidone Close off Cemetery Road, called the Police to rise up to the occasion and to also apprehend sellers and buyers of used water pumping machines. “This will reduce the theft of water pumping machines.”
Another respondent, Iyamu Braimoh called on local vigilante men to live up to their responsibilities of guiding against the theft of water pumping machines and other valuable properties of residents. “They should justify the payment of security levies by residents. ” he added.
