The Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on SERVICOM, Rt. Hon.Funkekkeme Solomon has appealed to the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government, Barr. Jaro Egbo to be an ambassador of the State Governor, Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori, by replicating his MORE Agenda policy in the Local Government and ensuring accountability and transparency in his activities.
Hon. Solomon stated this on Tuesday during an official working visit with his team to Ughelli North Council Secretariat.
The Senior Policy Adviser said the purpose of the visit was basically to ascertain the level of cooperation between the Local Government Chairman, his staff and the residents of Ughelli North and to also develop a better working relationship for effective service delivery which is in tandem with what SERVICOM stands for.
He advised the Council Boss to establish a suggestion box and open a line for calls, where residents can drop their comments, observations and suggestions and can also call to get first-hand information about his activities and programs.
Responding, Barr. Egbo thanked him for the lecture on the operation of good governance as it relates to service delivery, assuring him that all his suggestions would be worked on.
The Council Boss promised to reinforce the MORE Agenda initiative of the Governor in Ughelli North, ensuring that his people enjoy the dividend of good governance.
Earlier in his welcome note, the Chairman had stated that despite the meagre resources coming into the Local Government, his administration has been able to embark on nine projects that are currently ongoing simultaneously without hitches, adding that Ughelli North Local Government Council has the highest number of workers with health centres and primary schools in the state.
The highlight of the visit was the inspection of the ongoing modern Secretariat complex and the children’s cottage hospital.
