The Delta State Chairman of the Council for Islamic Affairs (DSCIA), Alhaji Ibrahim Nwadu says the body will remain vigilant and proactive in tackling the challenges that affect the welfare and security of Islamic faithful in the state.
He disclosed this during a meeting with the Elders and Stakeholders in Islam at Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, the ongoing prayers, wisdom and steadfast support of the Elders and Stakeholders have been the foundation of his team’s efforts to serve the Muslim Community throughout the state.
He said since his assumption of office he has been working assiduously with his executive members to ensure proper protection of the rights and safety of Muslims in the state.
Alhaji Nwadu said Muslim faithful would continue to support and pray for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to ensure continuous peace and development of the state.
While saying that Islamic Religion is about love, peace and unity, he said Muslims will continue to live in peace and unity with their host Communities.
Nwadu said the purpose of the meeting was to brief the Elders and Stakeholders on his administration’s achievements since he assumed office on February 13th 2025, thanking the Elders for giving him and his team the opportunity to serve.
He said in the face of challenges both from external threat to the Community and internal demand for good governance, DSCIA has made real strides..
Alhaji Nwadu said with the guidance of the Elders and Stakeholders, his administration has established structures for unity, acted decisively for justice and peace, saying that they were addressing internal matters with integrity.
He said he and his executive members would remain committed to transparency and adherence to Islamic principles.
Nwadu, who is also the Vice President General, Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Delta State chapter, listed some of his achievements to include: Building unity and awareness, intervening for peace and justice, settling the Ubulu-Uku and Muslims crises amicably.
Others are addressing Herders/Farmers tension at Ogwashi-Uku; addressing internal governance (commitment to integrity), and many others.
Barrister Isah Clark, the Chairman, Elders and Stakeholders of DSCIA at the meeting, commended Alhaji Ibrahim Nwadu and his team for their hard work and effort in ensuring peace and unity among the Muslims faithful and their host communities.
Alhaji Clark described Nwadu as a vibrant Islamic Leader, adding that his achievements were highly commendable.
He equally prayed for Governor Oborevwori and his administration, assuring him that Islamic faithful would continue to support him
