
The Delta State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr. Odinigwe Odigie has commissioned R&K-TV Studio in Asaba, a new media enterprise established by Christopher Akposeye, a beneficiary of the state’s ICT Youth Empowerment Programme (ICT-YEP).
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on July 29, 2025, the Commissioner appreciated Akposeye for translating the digital skills acquired from the programme into a functional business venture. He noted that Akposeye’s initiative reflects the core objective of the ICT-YEP initiative which is to empower young Deltans to transform knowledge into practical outcomes.
Dr. Odigie encouraged other beneficiaries of the programme to emulate Akposeye’s example by collaborating, staying motivated, and pursuing excellence. He noted that this generation of youth has a unique opportunity to build a brighter future for Delta State through creativity, innovation, and skill-driven entrepreneurship.
The CEO of R&K-TV Studio, Mr. Chrispopher Akposeye in his response, thanked the commissioner for the role he played in instituting a programme like ICT-YEP, which has so far trained 300 young Deltans in digital skills, helping them contribute to the state’s economic growth and also Flash Media Team for their very effective lectures during the program.
He stated that the establishment of the studio demonstrates the transformative power of opportunity, adding that young people are ready to shape narratives and drive impact if given the right support.
The event featured the formal commissioning of the studio and a guided tour of the facility by the Commissioner and other dignitaries.
