Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, was among dignitaries that attended the Thanksgiving Mass in Celebration of Conferment Okpala Title on Diokpa. Catechist. Engr. Thomas Adigwe Sunday Iwelu.
The conferment which took place at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Nsukwa, Aniocha South Local Government Area was blessed by Rev. Fr. Dominic Chukwudi.
In his homely, Rev. Fr. Dominic Chukwudi expressed the need for every Christian to thank God, adding that thanking God brings Spiritual healings.
He noted that Diokpa Adigwe Iwelu has a very cordial relationship with God even when he was in active service.
While wishing him many more years in good health, Fr. Chukwudi admonished him never to lose hope in life no matter the circumstances.
He said age comes with wisdom and understanding, pointing out that the title of Diokpa is the oldest, merited person in the community and recognized by God.
He said that the title of Diokpa comes with responsibilities and lots of expectations.
He therefore called on Diokpa Adigwe Iwelu to use all the experiences garnered over the years and God’s wisdom to rule the community.
The reception which was also attended by the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme was graced with different dance groups, community members, friends and well-wishers.
