
He said the determined troops also discovered and safely detonated more than 14 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by the terrorists in various locations.
“In a continued effort to deny Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists the freedom to operate, troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), supported by close air support from the Air Component OPHK and the Civilian Joint Task Force, sustained a series of offensive operations across the North East theatre from July 23 to August 2, 2025.
Troops of the North East Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have killed 17 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists during clearance operations across Borno and Adamawa states.
Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Captain Reuben Kovangiya, said in a statement that the terrorists had been operating in Bama, Konduga, Gwoza, Magumeri, and Biu local government areas of Borno State, as well as Michika in Adamawa State.
“The sustained offensive operations, in line with directives from the military high command, underscore OPHK’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace in the North East and fostering a conducive environment for socio-economic development,” Kovangiya said.
