The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Isaac Agbateyiniro honoured three exceptional teenagers as Warri Brand Ambassadors on Monday 4th Of August, 2025.
The decoration ceremony, held during a special session of the Council’s executive meeting, featured the presentation of scholarships and cash incentives designed to propel the honourees’ academic and creative journeys.
The recipients, Ebule Oritsemeyiwa Precious (who scored a remarkable 334 in the 2025 UTME), McCarthy Oritsetseyigbemi Jessy (winner of the 2025 NDLEA National Award), and Adekunle Oluwasegun David (a gifted saxophonist) — each received unique support packages.
Ebule will enjoy full university tuition funding for four years, McCarthy secured a ₦2,139,000 scholarship covering her 2025 academics, and Adekunle received ₦500,000 to bolster his education and musical ambitions.
In a special recognition of service, the Council also announced a monthly stipend of ₦77,000 for Mr. Jolly Omatie, a volunteer teacher at Ukpotiki Primary School in the riverine Ukpokiti community, who has dedicated years to educating local pupils without pay.
Addressing the ambassadors, hon. Agbateyiniro highlighted that the recognition aligns with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which champions grassroots connection, merit, and excellence. “Warri is a brand, and those who carry that name must be symbols of integrity, talent, and discipline,” he declared, urging the new ambassadors to lead by example.
He cautioned that upholding these high standards is essential, as falling below them could lead to withdrawal of the honour. “Represent this brand with pride, wherever you go,” he told the recipients.
Also speaking, Princess (Mrs.) Misan Eke, Supervisor for Human Capital Development, reaffirmed the Council’s focus on investing in youths who excel in academics and creativity, while Dr. Marvis Onojowho, Chairman of the Warri Brand Committee, described the initiative as an exemplary model for youth development throughout Delta State.
The newly decorated ambassadors, joined by grateful parents, expressed heartfelt gratitude and promised to be worthy stewards of the Warri brand.
