Youths have been encouraged to venture into private enterprises by acquiring skills such as ICT compliance, agricultural skills and mentoring others through capacity building in order to be strategically positioned for self-reliance and future employment.
The Head of Service of Delta State, Dr (Mrs) Mininim Oseji gave encouragement when the Idumuje-Unor Patriotic Union of Nigeria and Patriotic Youth Association paid her a courtesy visit in her office at Asaba.
While thanking them for the visit, she commended the state Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for prioritizing the development of “Oseji Road” in Idumuje-Unor Community of Delta State.
Dr Oseji advised youths to think outside the box by developing skills that would be beneficial to them instead of remaining idle.
According to her, ” it is more profitable to be an entrepreneur or be in private business, as the government can create an enabling environment for youths to explore other options, rather than waiting for non-existent white collar jobs.” She stressed the need for everyone to make sacrifices for the common good and betterment of communities.
In a similar development, the Head of Service of Delta State has promised to ensure transparency in every sector of the state’s economy through digitalization.
She stated this when she hosted the Governing Board of the Contributory Health Commission in Asaba.
The Head of Service promised that her office was open to collaboration with the Commission for the greater good of the state.
Other groups who paid courtesy visits included the Management and Staff of the Delta State Ministry of Finance, Delta State Law Students Association of Nigeria, Society For Women in Taxation, The Office of the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Social Works and the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Asaba Branch.
