Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has advised youths to be committed to the development of the state by making positive contributions through empowerment schemes and self-development.
The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Onoriode Agofure, gave the advice at the commemoration of the 2025 International Youth Day Celebration with the theme,”Local Youth Action for Sustainable Development Goals and Beyond,” organized by the Ministry of Youth Development, emphasized the need for young people to align with his MORE AGENDA by speaking directly to the vision of the state through local youth action for economic growth.
Revealing that over 300 youths have been trained in Information and Communications Technology and other Youth empowerment schemes in the State, the Governor promised his commitment and support for the youths as they develop their skills to be useful to themselves and the society.
Also speaking, the Head of Service of Delta State, Dr. Mininim Oseji expressed her congratulatory message to Youths on the commemoration of the 2025 International Youth Day Celebration, adding that young ones should always be engaged by participating in voluntary work for self-actualization.
She maintained that the theme for the year’s celebration was apt as it encourages young ones to be focused on being active by taking actions to hone their skills and joining ICT platforms to position themselves for great things happening in the State.
In their separate goodwill messages to youths from the 25 Local Government Areas of the state, the Chief of Staff to the Delta State Governor, Hon. Johnson Erijo; Commissioners for Ministries of Youth Development, Hon. Thankgod Trakinawei, Science and Technology, Daniel Odigie, Technical Education, Smart Ufoh and Primary Education, Kingsley Ashibougwu, congratulated the youths ++ on the “Youth Day Celebration” and encouraged them to always engage themselves positively as change makers, innovators, communicators and critical thinkers for the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals that would put Delta State and Nigeria on the global map.
