A former Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, and a Political Elder in the State, Olorogun Patrick Fovie, has endorsed the Ughelli South Political Colonels (USPC) core agenda of mobilizing for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in 2027.
Fovie, who made this known at his residence in Ughevwughe town on Friday, 22nd August 2025, prayed for USPC and urged other political pressure group to align with USPC since its core mandate was to ensure that APC retained power both at federal and the State levels.
Fovie added he has nothing to object to in the aims and objectives of USPC because they are the core wishes of the APC.
According to him, “It’s our desire that the APC retains power in Abuja; therefore, we shall do all we can to ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is re-elected for a second term in 2027.
“In the same vein, we shall re-elect Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as Governor of Delta State come 2027; therefore, we should key into the agenda of the group, as their desires are also mine.
“We are in the same boat; as such, we can’t leave each other. I thank you all for your desire to mobilize for the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in 2027,” he added.
Earlier, Olorogun John Ewenede, Chairman of the Ughelli South Political Colonels, alongside Publicity Secretary Dcn. Matthew Kwode, stated that the visit was to introduce the group’s Executives to the national leader of the APC in the Local Government Area, and as well articulate USPC’s objectives.
He disclosed that USPC is a grassroots oriented political pressure group within the APC in Ughelli South Local Government Area, with membership presence in all political wards in the Local Government Area.
He added that the core mandate was to ensure that President Bola Tinubu stayed in power beyond 2027, while our hard working Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori remain the only sole Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, (APC), during the 2027 general election.
According to Olorogun Ewenede who spoke during the visit, “the Ughelli South Political Colonels (USPC) is a disciplined political pressure group within the APC, committed to advancing the Party’s progressive ideals in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
“Our core mandate is to ensure that President Bola Tinubu stayed in office beyond 2027 and secondly, our Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori remain the only sole governorship candidate of the APC in 2027.”
He appealed to all political leaders of Urhobo extraction with the ambition to run for the office of the Governor in the State to shelve such dream and support Governor Sheriff Oborevwor.
Highpoint of the visit was the formal introduction of the Executive and key members of USPC to Olorogun Fovie.
