The Chairman, Delta State Civil Service Commission, Noble Roseline Amioku has declared open a one-day Leadership Development Workshop for officers on Salary Grade Levels (SGL) 08–10, with a charge to participants to seize the opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills and prepare for greater responsibilities in the State Civil Service.
Declaring the workshop open today at the Amphi-theatre, Maryam Babangida Leisure Park, Anwai, Asaba, Noble Amioku expressed delight at the initiative and acknowledged the support of the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, or approving and funding the programme as part of his administration’s investment in human capital development.
“This workshop is a deliberate and calculated orchestration to put you on a pedestal of greatness,” she said. “I challenge you to embrace this opportunity to enhance your skills, knowledge, and capabilities as future directors and leaders of the Civil Service. Let us work together to advance Delta State and create a brighter future for all.”
The Chairman also commended the facilitators, particularly, Head of Service Emeritus, Sir Okey Ofili, mni for their sustained partnership with the Commission in driving effective career management and quality service delivery across the State workforce.
In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Mr Frederick Yoro described the programme as part of the Commission’s vision to produce competent leaders who would leave lasting impacts on the Service. He emphasized that the workshop aligns with the Governor’s MORE Agenda of training and re-training civil servants to build capacity for effective service delivery.
Mr Yoro said that the training modules had been carefully designed to impart practical knowledge in leadership and workplace efficiency and reiterated that the topics to be covered include, Drafting Memoranda, Minutes, and Official Letters in the Civil Service, Leveraging Digital Strategies to Improve Efficiency and Effectiveness, Essential Leadership Requirements in the Civil Service and Skill-sets for Peak Performance in the 21st Century Workplace.
He congratulated participants on their nominations, describing them as future leaders of the Service, and urged them to take full advantage of the workshop.
The Permanent Secretary added that the workshop is expected to strengthen the leadership pipeline within the Delta State Civil Service and equip mid-level officers with the tools necessary to excel in higher responsibilities while contributing meaningfully to governance and public service delivery.
