In a concerted effort to ensure the timely completion of crucial infrastructure projects in the State, the Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Hon. Ejiro Etacherure, Mr. Eugene Oziwele, State Director of the Fire Service Command, have conducted an extensive inspection of the new fire station project in Orerokpe, constructed by R.C Jeremy Enterprises.
Etacherure stated that the visit was part of the implementation strategy under the ‘More Agenda’ initiative championed by the administration of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State.
He reiterated that Governor Oborevwori is a man with high standards who has done even more than the MORE AGENDA he proposed, stating that the governor does not just award contracts but also inspects every ongoing construction across the State to ensure that they meet expected standard.
The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the overall progress of the project, noting that it is currently at 75% completion. However, he also identified certain areas needing attention and amendments. “It is cheaper to do a good job from the start than to spend additional resources on repairs later,” he remarked, emphasizing the importance of quality workmanship in creating infrastructure that serves the community effectively.
While commending the contractor, the Commissioner expressed joy with the pace of work but emphasized the importance of adhering to safety standards and timelines. “This project is essential not only for enhancing fire service response times, but also for ensuring that our communities feel secure. We must keep pushing for excellence as we move forward,” he stated.
He urged R.C Jeremy Enterprise to maintain the quality expected as well as to complete the project within the stipulated time frame.
