Ahead of the 2027 general elections, wife of the Delta State Governor and Founder, You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori has called for unity among party members, urging everyone to come together to achieve the needed success.
The First Lady made the call when she received a delegation of Women executives of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.
In her address, she welcomed the party executives, admonishing them to shun divisiveness and embrace peace to achieve the collective goal of the party.
In her words, “I want us all to work together to move the state forward, let our focus be on advancing our dear state and not on fighting internal wars.
“I want to sincerely commend every member of our dear state for your support and cooperation so far by agreeing to work with and support our Governor.
“On my part, I will continue to empower women and raise my voice for children living with autism and other vulnerabilities by providing quality healthcare for them through my pet project, the You Matter Charity Foundation.
“Irrespective of party, we are all one and this administration remains committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to every Deltan,” she said.
The wife of the Governor described the visit as timely and crucial considering the need for the party to come together first for the progress of the state and for the success of the future elections.
The leader of the delegation and State Women Leader of APC, Hon. Tina Okwudili, on behalf of the group, acknowledged the contribution of the state government towards the well-being and collective advancement of the state.
In her address, she underscored the non-ignorable role of women in achieving political success in any state.
“We believe that women are indispensable when it has to do with the growth of politics in any state or nation. And it is also our belief that Delta can become a model of inclusion where women are not only mobilizers but office holders as well”.
The delegation of executives comprised APC women leaders at both senatorial and local government levels.
The meeting witnessed an interactive session where the women rubbed minds with the First Lady on issues of concern, after which the delegation presented tokens of gift items to the wife of the Governor.
