The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) zonal quiz competition for the South/South region has been scheduled to take place in Asaba, the Delta State Capital on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
A statement from the Director of Schools, Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Lady Winifred Ighavbota, on behalf of the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, said that the competition would be held in Cluster D, Professor Chike Edozien Secretariat, Asaba, beginning from 9am.
The statement explained that two students from each State in the South/South region were expected to participate in the quiz competition.
According to the statement, the winner of the zonal competition would represent the South/South region at the grand finale of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies quiz competition which would be held in Abuja.
The statement noted that DELSU Secondary School, Abraka representing Delta State would compete with Top Faith International Secondary School, Mkpatak, Akwa-Ibom, County Grammar School, Ikwerre/Etche, Rivers State, Fruitful Vines International Schools, Rev. Ekene Estate, Calabar, Cross Rivers State, Annunciation Catholic College, Irrua, Edo State and St. Jude’s Girls’ Secondary School, Amarata , Bayelsa State.
It congratulated DELSU Secondary School, which is representing Delta State in the South/South zonal stage of the quiz competition, and urged the school to be good ambassadors of the State by putting up a remarkable performance in the competition for them to win and proceed to the final in Abuja.
