Delta State Head of Service, Dr. Mininim Oseji, has emphasized the importance of family values and healthy living in combating HIV/AIDS.
She made this call at the flag-off of the 2025 World AIDS Day Road Walk in Asaba, urging governments, civil society, and individuals to work together to strengthen families and promote healthy living.
Dr. Oseji highlighted the alarming rate of new infections among older men and younger women, stressing the need for collective actions.
The event, declared open by the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, drew a large crowd who joined the commemorative walk to show support for those living with HIV and remember those who lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses.
This year’s theme, “Overcoming Disruptions: Sustaining Nigeria HIV Response,” calls for sustained efforts to combat the disease.
