The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, has reaffirmed that the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori places the welfare of citizens at the core of all policy decisions.
Dr. Emu made this known in his office during a presentation by Armese Consulting and Energy Markets and Rates Consultants, the firms engaged by the State Government to develop a comprehensive policy framework for the state’s power sector.
He noted that the previously centralized approach to power management had become unsustainable, stressing that the new framework must be thorough, forward-looking, and capable of ensuring long-term viability and improved service delivery.
Consequently, he charged the consultants to produce a robust, holistic policy document that aligns with Federal Government guidelines while reflecting the unique needs and realities of Delta State.
Present at the meeting were the Commissioners for Energy; Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information; Economic Planning; and Justice, as well as the Principal Secretary to the Governor, the Chief Economic Adviser, the Director-General of the Delta State Investment Agency, among others.
