In a bid to facilitate a conducive working environment for Julius Berger Construction Company to expedite the completion of the Otovwodo Junction flyover bridge, the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government, Barr. Jaro Egbo has supervised the demolition of unauthorized structures erected under the high tension wire and the Otovwodo Junction flyover bridge along the East- West Road.
Speaking recently at the demolition site, the Council Boss stated that the action followed the expiration of several demolition notices issued to occupants. He stressed that the demolition notice was aired on radio and public announcement made but most of the occupants didn’t take the notice serious.
He explained that the demolition exercise is along the East- West Road, spanning from Agbarha Otor Junction to Okogbe Junction on both sides of the East-West Road.
He stated that the exercise is to assist Julius Berger Construction Company to meet up with the designated deadline of 14 months from the commencement date, urging residents to give the necessary support to make the deadline a reality.
Barr. Egbo urged residents and developers to always respect government building plan by obtaining government approval documents like certificate of occupancy before erecting any structure, stressing that compensation would be paid to those with certificate of occupancy.
