The Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ighoyota Amori, has congratulated the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on the peaceful and successful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Congress held on Tuesday in Asaba.
Amori said the smooth and harmonious outcome of the congress reflected the governor’s inclusive leadership style and commitment to wide consultations among party stakeholders following the historic movement of the state’s political structure into the APC on April 28, 2025.
Speaking to newsmen on the side-lines of the congress venue in Asaba, the Chief Adviser noted that the success of the exercise was the result of a series of strategic engagements initiated by Governor Oborevwori to ensure that all interests within the party were adequately accommodated.
According to him, the governor convened several meetings involving leaders and stakeholders across the state, where extensive deliberations and consultations were held before a consensus was reached on the composition of the newly inaugurated State Executive Committee.
“The peaceful conduct of the congress is a clear reflection of the leadership capacity of our governor. His decision to convene several meetings with stakeholders across the state created the opportunity for robust discussions and consultations,” Amori said.
He added, “Through a process of dialogue, understanding and compromise, party leaders were able to arrive at a consensus on the State Executive that has now been inaugurated. That is why the congress was peaceful and successful.”
Amori also commended party leaders and members for demonstrating maturity and unity throughout the process, noting that such cooperation would further strengthen the APC in Delta State.
The Chief Adviser further extended warm congratulations to the newly inaugurated State Executive Committee led by the State Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, describing their emergence as a significant step toward consolidating the party’s structure in the state.
“I warmly congratulate the newly inaugurated State Executive led by Chief Solomon Arenyeka. Their emergence marks another important milestone in the ongoing consolidation of our great party in Delta State,” he said.
He urged the new leadership of the party to work closely with Governor Oborevwori’s development agenda and the broader vision of the APC to ensure unity, stability and effective mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The new executive must align with the development agenda of the governor and the overall objectives of the party. With unity and commitment, we are confident that the APC will record a smooth and resounding victory in the 2027 elections,” Amori added.
He reiterated that the peaceful conduct of the congress has further demonstrated the strength and cohesion within the APC in Delta State, expressing confidence that the party would continue to grow stronger through collective leadership and shared commitment to the progress of the state.
