Lecturers at the University of Lagos, UNILAG, Akoka, Lagos, have resolved to withdraw their services from Wednesday following allegation that their salaries for the months of January and February this year were not paid in full.
The decision was taken at an emergency congress of the union held on Tuesday.
The union held that members would not accept the amputated salaries paid them for the said months.
Sources at the Emergency Congress said that members rejected what they termed Amputated January ond February 2026 salaries.
“After extensive ond exhaustive deliberations on the one item on the agenda, Congress observed thot the University paid amputated salary in January, 2026 to oll members i.e.
Akoko Compus: No EAA payment; Idi Araba Campus: No EAA ond CATA payments.
“The University also unilaterally ond wickedly poid amputated February, 2026 salary to all our members. The recent action of the University Administration violates oll the tenets of decency ond clearly portrays the University Administration os wicked and unfeeling,” a source said.
Members subsequently resolved to withdraw their services from Wednesday until their salaries are paid in full.
