Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, Chairman of Ika South Local Government Area has been sworn-in as the Ika South Local Government Area Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a movement aligned with the vision and ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was inaugurated alongside other local government coordinators at a well-attended ceremony that brought together party faithful, community stakeholders, youth leaders, and supporters of All Progressives Congress, APC, from across Delta State and beyond.
The event, which marks a significant step in consolidating APC grassroots political structures within Delta State, is also seen by political observers as part of a broader state-wide effort to ensure victory for the party in the 2027 elections at all levels.
The initiative is also aimed at strengthening political mobilization, enhancing civic engagement, and deepening the reach of the Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the ceremony, Engr. Ehiwarior expressed profound gratitude to the leadership of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the APC for the confidence reposed in him. He described his appointment as a call to higher service and pledged to deploy his experience and grassroots pedigree towards effective mobilisation across all wards in Ika South Local Government Area.
He emphasized the importance of inclusivity, youth engagement, and community-driven development, noting that sustainable political progress must be anchored on the active participation of the people.
He further assured stakeholders of his commitment to fostering unity within the party, strengthening communication channels, and ensuring that the policies of government, both at federal and state, as well as local government levels communicated to the people at the grassroots.
Some leaders and stakeholders from Ika South who were interviewed, including Chief Peter Idion, Mr. Williams Eghebi, Chief Wilson Oni Agbobu, Comrade Amechi Igumbor, highlighted the strategic importance of Ika South in the political dynamics of Delta State.
They described Ehiwarior as an experienced politician and grassroots mobilizer whose leadership would bring renewed energy and direction to the movement in the area.
They commended the appointment, citing Ehiwarior’s track record in public service and his accessibility to the people.
They expressed optimism that his leadership of the body would create more opportunities for participation, empowerment, and community development.
They noted that the inauguration comes at a crucial time when political activities are intensifying leading to 2027 general elections.
The Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ strategy of strengthening structures at the local level is seen as a decisive move toward building a formidable and cohesive political base for the APC and President Bola Tinubu.
