Youths of Adagbrassa-Elume in Sapele Local Government Area have once again demonstrated deep commitment to grassroots development by renovating a previously dilapidated water facility in the community.
The intervention, funded entirely through personal contributions from members of the Adagbrassa-Elume Youths in Diaspora forum, was aimed at improving access to clean water and enhancing the well-being of residents.
Speaking from his residence in Asaba on Thursday, April 2027, the Chairman of the forum, Comrade Felix Evwihor, commended members for their unwavering support and readiness to respond to the needs of their homeland.
He emphasized that both past and present projects executed by the group were solely financed through voluntary contributions, underscoring the spirit of unity and selflessness among members.
Evagor appealed to community leaders and beneficiaries of the facility to take ownership of the project by ensuring its proper use and maintenance.
“I sincerely appreciate all the youths of our community. Each time I call on them, they have never failed to respond, and this time is no exception,” he said.
He reiterated that the projects were not sponsored by any government body or external benefactors but were driven by the collective resolve of the youths to give back to their roots.
“It is on this strength that I urge our people at home to handle the facility with care and see it as their own. Proper maintenance will not only extend its lifespan but also motivate us to do more,” he added.
The latest effort builds on previous interventions by the group. It would be recalled that just last year, the same body undertook the replacement of two non-functional water systems that had been abandoned for years, restoring access to potable water for the community.
Residents have lauded the initiative, describing it as a timely and impactful contribution to community development, while calling on other stakeholders to emulate the group’s example.
