A massive rainstorm has rendered many people homeless in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti state.
The rain, which lasted for almost one hour, affected places, such as ijadu Olorunda, Olorunsogo and Isato areas of Ado-Ekiti, while houses, roofings, fences and electricity poles were also pulled down.
One victim of the storm, Johnson Adeola of ijadu Ado-Ekiti, whose house was pulled down in the downpour, appealed to Governor Biodun Oyebanji to come to his aid, as his family had no place to lay their heads.
Another resident of Olorunsogo Zone thirteen, Ado-Ekiti, Bukola Ajisafe, appealed to the state government to help dredge the river in the area to give room for free flow of water.
She said the area was flooded during the rain, thus preventing residents access to their homes.
